One Year Ago...

One year ago, it was the best day of my life.

I had the time of my life.

I got married to my best friend.

They say the first year is the hardest.

I think we made it without a hitch.

If we can survive living with in-laws for over a year I believe we can survive anything.

Yesterday we celebrated our anniversary a day early since Travis has to work today.

I live in Puget Sound Washington and there are so many islands I have been dying to go to. Yesterday Travis surprised me with a Ferry Ride from Tacoma to Vashon Island! We have been thinking of actually moving to Vashon so we wanted to check it out.

I think we actually covered the whole island on his bike! We went down all the back roads side roads, beach access roads. We had a blast.

For lunch we wanted to cruise around town and find a local hot spot. And boy did we! Vashon is very much a hippie town. I spotted this restaurant on the side of the road called The Monkey Tree. I really just liked the name. So we walked in and we were handed a Menu. Travis and I were looking through it and realized there were no entres with meat!
I had picked a Vegetarian restaurant!

I was a little sceptic I had never eated a full vegetarian meal. But I ordered a Roasted Fig and Gorgonzola Grilled Sandwhich.

It was amazing! I had never had anything so good! Travis was more like a breakfast meal. He liked mine better. I couldn't finish mine so he had the rest. After that meal, we decieded we could be vegetarian! It filled us up but didn't weigh us down!

After lunch we cruised around a lot. It was a so much fun!

Around 7 we headed back to Tacoma to have some dinner then watch the fireworks at 10. We took a long and relaxing dinner to try and kill some time before the festivities.

Our lunch was better.

The fireworks were amazing. They were shot off a barge in the middle of the Sound!

I love my hubby!

***********************************************************************

Travis and I have been married for a few months shy of a year. He is an amazing and patient man.
This is the story on how my life became a love story.

A good friend of mine from high school worked in a motorcycle shop called Cycle Gear. I would always go and visit him from time to time. (it was on my way to work) Cameron was one of my first good friends when I moved to Utah my junior year of high school. I felt out of place and alone and Cameron kind of took me under his wing and introduced me to a lot of his friends. Anyway we've been close every since. (no romantic interest at all)

This one day I go into the shop to visit Cameron. And a guy comes in and we kind of chat for a bit but I had to leave shortly after. Now I didn't think anything of this conversation and a few minutes after I had left Cameron texted me asking me if I wanted to go on a date with him. Now this guy I talked too looked fairly older than me. So I asked him how old he was... Cameron said 29! I told him no way would I go out with someone 11 years my senior! (I was 18 at the time)

He laughed it off and said okay but then asked if I wanted to go on a date with his Manager. Now when I think of manager I think like 30s or 40s too! So I was skeptical at first but then Cameron told me he was 21. Okay I could totally handle that!

Now I had never met this man.

Never.

I had never been on a blind date. I was so nervous

And on top of all that, our first date I was on the back his motorcycle.

So Travis picked me up on his motorcycle.

I had never been on a motorcycle either. Travis even brought me my own helmet. After our first date he actually went out and bought me my own helmet!

On our first date was when I knew he was different from other guys. He knew I was super nervous about riding so at one point he picks up some speed and he gently(not creepy like or anything) placed his hand on my back and pulled me closer to him. He made me feel so safe. I didn't think any man could ever do that for me. (right before we met I just got out of a super abusive relationship)

We've been together ever since.

Stayed tuned till next friday when I share some more juicy insights of my married life.

Until then.

Have many speechless moments.

New Year's at the Needle!

Happy New Years everyone!

I hope you all had a SAFE and fantastic new year's eve and day.

I know Travis and I had blast.

We were trying to figure out what to do for new year's eve and couldn't think of anything. None of our friends were really doing anything. I think new years kind of caught everyone by surprise. I mean it did for us!

Anyway I've been in a romantic mood with Travis lately and I thought it would fun and romantic to spend the evening in Seattle and get a hotel. We did just that. I am not sure if you are familar with Seattle but there is the Space Needle. Every year they shoot fireworks right off the top. Travis said its very cool to watch.
In the car on the way to Seattle. What a goofball.
Travis and I in our hotel room before we trekked out to the Needle
Believe it or not it was raining in Seattle! But we had a blast non the less. Nothing could put a damper on our fun!
The needle look so cool! They strung lights around the needle at the top and it looked like a Christmas tree.
There were Christmas lights everywhere! I loved the way the needle looked behind the tree.
Here is the movie of the 10 second countdown. It was so neat. There weren't a lot of people there so we got a good view.
A continuation of the fireworks.
It was a perfect New Year's Eve.

Zoo Lights!

I have been dying to go to Zoolights! The do it every year at the Point Definace Zoo and we haven't been able to go this year because of all the snow and our hectic schedules.
But I got off work early yesterday and we were able to go.
I was so excited!

It was a little chilly but not as bad as it had been! We were worried it was going to rain on us but thankfully it didn't!

I thought it was a very cool tree.
I love killer whales. I am not sure why, but I have always liked them!

Oh I loved the puffins!
This dear sweet man puts up with all picture taking.

Yeah for Zoolights! We had a wonderful evening!
There were so many families there. I love the way parents dress their kids when its cold out. It is so much like little Randy from a Christmas Story. I can't wait until Travis and I are ready to have kids. He is going to be such a good Daddy.
And yes I will dress my children like Randy when its cold out.

One Year Older and Wiser Too

So yesterday was my 20th birthday! What a wonderful day! My first birthday as a married lady. As soon as I woke up I opened the presents from my parents then I crawled back into bed and snuggled Travis. Then he pulled out his present.

It was a diamond necklace! Oh my it was stunning! A past Present, future type of setting. I love it so much. It was something I wasn't expecting at all! Travis' dad told him that he was setting the bar really high, so early into the marriage. Haha

Anyway we got ready because Travis had a full day planned. :D Now you have to understand I am major dork, I love museums and books and learning and such. Anyway Travis had planned to go to the Pacific Science Center! Let me tell you what I was so excited.

After we got ready we hoped into the car and we went out to Winger's for lunch. One of my favorite restaurants! Anyway lunch was delicious!

It took us over 2 hours to get from Tacoma to the Seattle Center! So much traffic! So I decieded to take some pictures! It should've only taken us like 40 mins!

As soon as we got there we had to find a place to park which was murder! haha We finally found a place for only 8 bucks for 10 hours! Which was amazing because last time we were up there it cost us over 24 bucks to park! And it was only 2 blocks from the Pacific Science Center!

The Pacific Science Center was amazing! So much to do we couldn't do it all. But we did get to see Lucy's Legacy. The oldest remains of a human, 3.2 Billion years old! It was so awesome.
We also got tickets to see Madagascar 2 on their giant IMAX screen!
We also went to the Butterfly house! That was so cool. There were butterflies everywhere. One flew right at me and I screamed... how embarrassing.

The museum closed at 6 so we had 3 hours to kill before the movie started. We walked around the square for a while, I took some more pictures haha.

Anyway after my barrage of pictures we tried to eat dinner at the Space Needle. But since it was Saturday night there weren't any openings till 9 45 ( which was when our movie was) So we couldn't go, but Travis promised that we would go in December so we can go ice skating too. :D

Anyway we found a fantastic East Coast Pizzeria called Bambinos. Oh it was amazing! Everything tasted so fresh, nothing canned. We loved it so much and it wasn't very expensive at all. Not like it would've been to eat at the Space Needle. A couple hundred dollars!

After dinner it was time for our movie. Oh man Madagascar 2 was so funny! We loved it so much! I highly recommend it!

So it was a perfect birthday. It didn't rain at all and it was even supposed to!
Best. Day. Ever.

Dreams are like movies; Memories are Films About Ghosts

It is a rare occasion that Travis have days off together. Yesterday was one of those days. Since Travis' parents are out of town we decided to have some fun.
So Travis is restoring and hot rodding a old 55' GMC truck. Its going to look so amazing. Now many people don't this but 55' GMC's have hood birds. It is an amazing little car ornament:
Anyway he got it Chromed a few weeks ago and that was our first stop on our wonderful day. It turned out awesome. ( this is not the actual picture of ours)
After we picked up the misc. chrome pieces we decieded to go to Seattle. It was such a wonderful day (sunny but cold), nice enough to go walking around Pike Place Market.
I have never seen any place so adorable. What a wonderful place! I have never seen so many cute and quant shops. We definalty didn't have time to look at them all. But I know we will be back.We walked around for a few hours and then I saw it! The infamous fish throwers! Haha They weren't throwing any fish when I took the pictures but it was neat to see them all there.

Since Pike Place closed at 6 we needed to find a place to eat. After staring at all the fish booths all day, we were both in the mood for Sushi. I hadn't been looking for places to eat, but Travis had been ( thank goodness for his stomach) and he saw a lovely Japanese and Sushi restaruant.
Dinner was wonderful! We were stuffed!
When we left the restaruant it was raining....a day in Seattle would not be complete without rain.
We were grateful that it did not rain earlier.

Our day was wonderful. I love my husband.

Holidays and birthdays

So since Travis and I started our new jobs we have no vacation time. Its awful because I am dying to spend time with my family. But I think I am just going to spend time with them about a week before christmas, which I am really excited about. I am just sad that Travis can't come. Costco is a little more easygoing about having time off then Travis' work.

I love my family so much! I can't wait to see my little brother! He just had to get contacts, he must look so adorable.

It was Travis' birthday a few weeks ago and we went to the museum of flight in Seattle and it was so much fun. He got to see his favorite airplane- F4U Corsair. As soon as I get the pictures from my card onto a CD ( my card driver is broken on my laptop) I will post some pictures.

EDIT: I finally fixed my card driver in my computer! Yeah!
