Look- A-Like

So its odd to me that so many people tell me that I look like so many different people.

I work at Costco, in the food court, I wear one of those neat hats and hair nets, so I think its even stranger that people peg me as looking like someone else under all that.

Here are a few reference pictures of me for you.

Anyway I have kind kept a mental list of who people think I look like.

The first one. I have one customer actually call me her name (we have name tags). I think while working there I have been told I look like her at least once a month.
So the first one:

I personally don't think I look anything like her. But oh well. Maybe its the nose.


Second one from work that I've gotten recently:

I think maybe its the eyes.

Third one from work: I've only gotten her once at work. But I've gotten her other times before elsewhere.

Fourth one not from work. When I was in school I was told I looked like her.

The Teacher from Billy Madison.

Fifth..was a friend of mine. I don't think I look anything like her. It actually offends me, but I will post it anyway.

Sixth, this who my husband says I look like. When his friends would ask him, what I looked like he would say her. No one disagreed.

A Little Update

Wow... My apologies, I do not think I have been this absent in a very long time.

There is so much to talk about! But for now... yes I will leave you hanging until tonight...or later today whatever...

Here are my Project 365 updates... holy cow..WAY too many

Day 19

I went over to my sister-in-law's house on monday

and got play with my favorite Nephews 

They are my only Nephews...ahem...

 

 Day 20

This time Travis and I went over to my sister-in-law's house

for dinner.

Travis had a spoon war with The Woozle.

The Woozle totally won.

Day 21

 I got to go over and Babysit just the Woozle on Wednesday.

I drug Travis with me.. poor guy slept the whole time.

The Woozle decided he wanted to wear my shoes.

oh well.. I was there to save the day, and take pictures too

Day 22

A little grumpy Kimbo for you...he hates pictures.

He's an ex cop dog so he thinks it's a weapon being pointed at him.

from when we were married.

Today was the first time in 2 weeks that it was sunny.

Oh I love it. I am going to soak it all in today!

We All Need Hope...

Sorry this is two days behind….but read it as if it was Tuesday….

I was watching some of my guilty pleasures this morning.. reality shows...

When it hit me. The Inauguration of Barack Obama was on.

I quickly turned to the news stations and watched.

I thought it was odd they were filming everyone just talking and standing around before the Inauguration. I personally don't really care, but maybe some people wanted to get the whole feel of being there.

Anyway I toughed it out.. flipping back and forth between guilty pleasures and the speech... ahem

While I was on the Inauguration they said something that struck me with such impact that I must share with you.

They were showing the First Ladies ( Laura Bush and Michelle Obama) and said "It seems as the Presidents age become more haggard with their strenuous position, their First Ladies become more exquisite and elegant." (not a direct quote) It so true. Those women hold their heads high during their Husband's tough job. Truly remarkable women.

I truly enjoyed the "band" playing the composition by John Williams for the Inauguration. Oh I was almost in tears. I think it truly describes how the nation feels. Some are remorseful for the swearing in of the man they did not vote for but others- I want to believe the majority-are feeling hope and excitement as this new chapter of the Nation begins. The song was very slow in the beginning but then picked up and was a hopeful tune. Then it ended slow once again. It was perfect. Its so hard to describe how that song made me feel.

I have to admit the poem was odd....did not enjoy it one bit. I am sorry.

Sadly I didn't have time to watch it all. (it was one for a good 5 hours) But what I did see moved me. I truly feel hope for this Nation.

I was the one that believed in George Bush, I know he did everything he could in his power to protect us. Now granted some people may not agree but he did what HE thought was the righteous thing to do.

Now I am going to be frank, please no harassing me, I have my reasons and they are many but...

I. Do. Not. Vote.

So I can not be angry or disappointed with who became elected. All I know is that this Nation needed change, whether it was a change in party or just to have someone new in office, this Nation needs it.

I could care less if Barack was a republican, democrat, Whig, or the green party. I truly believe he will help this nation. I am putting my faith in him like I have done with other presidents in the past.

I just hope he doesn't become a crooked politician like so many in the past have become. I hope his views can be stayed focused on the people, not who he is going to make happy in the senate or congress.

Anyway I called my mom while I was making some of her recipes to bring to my sister in law's house for dinner and I asked her if she saw the Inauguration.

She said a resounding no.

I was somewhat confused, I know they are republican but I would've thought they would have an open mind about it.

I chose to be neither party. I support whomever I believe has the best views.

BUT I won't get into my political views because I do not want to cause commotion on this friendly and upbeat blog.

I love my parents to death they are my world. But I wish they had an open mind about the New Presidency. So I will be respectful and not bring it up when I chat with them.

We all need hope.

Sorry I've been absent the last few days.

Travis' parents have been out of town and we've been enjoying each other company.

SO I have been lacking in the post department.

But I have been keeping up on my project 365..

This statue is in my In-Laws front yard and I love it.

Its so angelic.

I don't know why but I find it very peaceful.

He seriously stayed like that for a good 3 minutes.

Day 18

It was sunny for the first time in about 2 weeks.

I was stoked.

But I love this tree, I think its called Japanese Willow

The way the sun light was hitting was majestic.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for Travis' Grandfather.
He doing great.
The only concern now is infection. Cross your fingers.

So yesterday I asked you all for prayers for Travis' grandfather.
Thank you for doing so. I am not sure what his condition is yet but his surgery went great.
We just hope he made it through the night.
I will let you know.

Day 14
Travis and I went on a hot date last night. His parents went to Idaho to be with his Grandfather,
so we again have the house to ourselves.
I got to wear my sexy shoes and we went out to dinner.
Then we came home and watched Love Actually.
All in all it was a great night.

Day 15
So Travis has an old Mercedes sitting out in the yard.
It is so fun to take pictures of!
I wish i had a better camera cause there is so much detail!
Anyway this one was my favorite!

So I was coming in the house the other night and this cute little tree popping out a planter!

Yeah for new life and no more snow!

Anyway on a different note, please pray for Travis' grandpa. He is going into surgery to get some of his intestines removed. We are worried about his heart and hope he makes it through. This is tough on all of us so any extra thoughts or prayers for him would be appreciated.

 

He loves those toys that make noise. What a cutie.

Project 365 Day 4

Day 4
It started to snow today. And I love this tree very much.

So I have NO idea how these women hold contests all the time on their blog sites! It seems crazy to me, to just give away stuff.

Don't get me wrong I am not complaining.
I just don't know how they do it.

Project 365 Day 2 and 3

As you know I am doing Project 365.
I am taking a picture for everyday of the year. Mostly summarizing the day's activities. Right now the pictures are raw. No photo-shopping or retouching.
I am not a very good photographer but I hope by the end of the year I will be a pro.

New Year's at the Needle!

Happy New Years everyone!

I hope you all had a SAFE and fantastic new year's eve and day.

I know Travis and I had blast.

We were trying to figure out what to do for new year's eve and couldn't think of anything. None of our friends were really doing anything. I think new years kind of caught everyone by surprise. I mean it did for us!

Anyway I've been in a romantic mood with Travis lately and I thought it would fun and romantic to spend the evening in Seattle and get a hotel. We did just that. I am not sure if you are familar with Seattle but there is the Space Needle. Every year they shoot fireworks right off the top. Travis said its very cool to watch.

Believe it or not it was raining in Seattle! But we had a blast non the less. Nothing could put a damper on our fun!

The needle look so cool! They strung lights around the needle at the top and it looked like a Christmas tree.

There were Christmas lights everywhere! I loved the way the needle looked behind the tree.

Here is the movie of the 10 second countdown. It was so neat. There weren't a lot of people there so we got a good view.
